40th Anniversary of Amnesty International
Wembley Arena, London, June 3, 2001


Colin Firth showed his support for Amnesty International by attending its 40th birthday gala at Wembley Arena on June 3, 2001, and blowing out the candles on the cake. The music and comedy show, hosted by Eddie Izzard, was entitled "We Know Where You Live, Live!" and featured an impressive lineup and unique variety of performers from Harry Enfield, U2, Tom Jones and Badly Drawn Boy to Alan Rickman, who massacred the famous Four Yorkshireman sketch popularized by Monty Python.
